Liquid cooling is emerging as the latest technology trend in the BESS sector, promising higher efficiencies and longer lifespans of grid-scale products. Compared to previously ubiquitous air cooling method, liquid cooling is said to be better geared to deal with temperature-related challenges and able to significantly reduce the required land footprint – a particularly important consideration in regions facing land constraints.
In its latest grid-scale BESS product, Chinese solar industry heavyweight Jinko Solar has turned to liquid cooling to deliver system improvements. Its SunTerra battery is said to be suitable for a variety of applications and designed in excess of normal safety standards.
Jinko Solar ESS technical manager Hamza Al Smadi will be joining us to dissect the new technology and its applications scenarios. He will demonstrate how the manufacturer’s liquid cooled ESS can help achieve a lower LCOS for utility-scale applications and translate into more money for investors, developers, and owners of grid-scale BESS projects alike.
To put this in a broader perspective, we will also hear from Duo Fu, vice president of clean tech research at Norwegian consultancy Rystad Energy. He will discuss the global trends in the utility-scale BESS market and analyze the current state of play.
